DO NOT REPLANT
THE OLD TREES
2019
Czeslaw Jurek, 91, moved to the Welsh capital Cardiff in 2011 from the small village Jugowice in Poland. According to The Office of National Statistics (2018) Jurek is one of the 'fifty-thousand Polish citizens over the age of fifty' and one in 'a million Poles' that live in the United Kingdom and a part of the Polish diaspora in the country. The project explores how the lifestyle of an elderly can be affected by migration and ageing when a drastic change of culture and environment form limitations, isolation and homesickness.
